Round the Rock Swim Recap, August 11, 2020
Odyssey’s Coach Conny and her crew recently accompanied a group of swimmers on a unique double-crossing of Alcatraz. The double-crossing was named “Round the Rock.” Here’s a summary of the swim from Taylor Hurt:
"Odyssey's Conny and her crew of 4 had a spectacular double-crossing of Alcatraz. Mostly flat water and a slight breeze, gray skies and misty. Odyssey's Conny and her crew of 4 had a spectacular double-crossing of Alcatraz. Mostly flat water and a slight breeze, gray skies and misty. Swimmers with perfect spacing and shape. I propose that the collective knowledge of the approaching safety of home triggered the phenomenon. I love the north side of Alcatraz, seldom seen it always reminds me of the Dirty Harry movie with the guard tower scene. “
Thanks to Taylor for the fun summary, and thank you to the swimmers who came out for this very fun crossing. Learn more about private swims with Odyssey Open Water Swimming here!
