Dust Off Your Kayak: Message from Odyssey's Taylor Hurt

Hello Friends and Paddlers,

Odyssey Open Water has been reactivated by the City of Berkeley to begin our swim clinics at the Berkeley Marina public dock. We have a Sunday morning 10 to 12, we have a Tuesday night from 6:30 to 8pm, and because of COVID-19 we started a Thursday morning charity swim at 7am. Please be geared up and have your boat in the water at the start of the swim. Note that low tide conditions moves our clinic further out the marina to where the old Lordships Restaurant was, and we enter the water next to the restaurant.

These swims require some paddling escorts, so if you'd like to shake off the cobwebs and wash off your kayak or paddleboard, come paddle one or more of our clinics. These are paid escort positions (except the Thursday morning charity swim) so send us an email and we can put you on our calendar.

Sunday is our biggest day and I could use one more this Sunday, Tuesday nights are wide open and will require at least one paddler and if numbers warrant it we'll add paddlers, Thursday mornings are an unknown as far as the interest so I'll update this email if the turnout warrants it...so get in touch, and get set to get wet.

Berkeley Marina is at the University exit, stay left at the stop sign and watch for the public dock on your left across from Hana Restaurant. If you google Cal Sailing, the public dock is beside it.

All our events and clinics will observe social distancing and masks until further notice. Please be safe driving I look forward to seeing you on the water soon,.”
