Kayakers Needed for 10/26 Bridge to Bridge Swim!
One of our most popular and challenging events is just a month away. On October 26, Odyssey Open Water Swimming will take a group of expert swimmers out to the Golden Gate Bridge and guide them on an unforgettable journey all the way to the Bay Bridge.
We are happy to report that the swim is completely full. In fact, the swim has been full for nearly four months. We even have a long waiting list with qualified swimmers who want to join in on the fun. This is where you come in.
We are seeking kayakers to join us for the day to safely escort these athletes.
Have Experience Kayaking?
If you have experience kayaking in rough water, we invite you to inquire about paddling with Odyssey Open Water Swimming on 10/26. We prefer if kayakers have their own equipment, but if not, we would still love to work with you! We can rent a kayak for you if needed.
Our team and swimmers love our Odyssey kayakers, who escort experienced and skilled swimmers while enjoying some of the best views in the country. The Bridge to Bridge swim is a favorite among our kayakers for the view and because they will be solely focused on a single swimmer. There is a 1-to-1 swimmer to kayak ratio for this event. The 6.2-mile swim can take 2-3 hours, however, due to timing it with the tide, swimmers have a strong current in their favor.
For this swim, as a kayaker, you will be paid $85 if you have their own kayak and gear and $40 if you need a rental kayak. This is an event you don’t want to miss! Email warren@odysseyopenwater.com to state your interest to kayak in our 10/26 Bridge to Bridge swim.
